For use on interior or exterior galvanised metal surfaces and other non ferrous metals such as aluminium, lead, copper, nickel, tin, titanium and zinc.
Metalshield Quick Dry Metal Primer by Dulux Trade is a water-based primer that seals and protects the surface, providing excellent adhesion. It is suitable for priming either new and bright or weathered galvanised metals. This primer will give up to 8 years protection to metal surfaces when used as directed, with 2 coats of or .

Preparation
Ensure that the surfaces to be primed are sound, clean, and dry (it is particularly important that new surfaces are completely dry) and free from all defective or poorly adhering material such as efflorescence, dirt, grease or wax.
- Where necessary, surfaces should be rubbed down using a suitable abrasive paper and then dusted off.
- Use a suitable oil and grease remover to clean the surface if necessary
- Special precautions should be taken when preparing pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
Application
We recommend testing a small area before painting the entire surface to ensure compatibility.
- Stir thoroughly before use. Thinning is not usually required.
- Conventional spray application add up to 1 part clean water to 6 parts paint.
- Airless spray application add up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint.
- Apply 1 coat of Dulux Trade Metalshield Quick Dry Metal Primer.
